What is Self Compassion?





Self Compassion is recognizing your own individual experience is important and worthy of being treated with dignity, respect and love... from ones self. It is realizing that what you do to yourself has direct repercussions on your life in three main aspects. How you treat yourself in these areas helps to maintain homeostasis within them. How you treat your body affects your body. How you treat your mind affects your mind, and how you treat your spirit affects your spirit.

The Body

What you take into your body builds your body. You have the choice to take in food that can be advantageous to your health or detrimental. We now know that even though once recommended by doctors for a number of reasons, cigarettes cause cancer. You still have the choice to smoke them but we all know they are not good for the body. It is now becoming widely known that processed meats are as carcinogenic as cigarettes. It is also becoming widely known that a plant based diet is ideal for optimal health.

So what we take in is directly related to how good we feel and how well we perform physically.

The Mind

What you expose yourself to additionally has a direct result in your mental state. We truly are the results of our environment. From the time we are born we are exposed to a wide variety of stimuli. Each and every moment we exist builds upon our overall awareness of our reality. When we fill our mind with "mindless" entertainment or violent imagery instead of awareness building, spiritually fulfilling knowledge the system degrades and becomes more violent, less aware and spiritual devoid.

As with any system, you only get out what you put into it.

The Spirit

What is not widely known is how what we take in, be it through physical consumption, or mental stimulation has a direct result on our state of spiritual well being. Our mind and how our psyche interpret what we take in effects our spiritual awareness. It has been shown that the pineal gland functions much better when the body is clean of chemicals, especially fluoride.

The cleaner the body, the cleaner the mind, the cleaner the spirit.
